About VTON
Introducing: Richard Elsinga & Erik de Jonge
Based on our own experiences as a player, coach, DOC/Head of youth Academy and instructor Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) as well as observing a large number of games in the age group of U6 through U18, at various levels, we discovered a number of common soccer problems within the attacking and defending by age group. We are convinced that we have found the solution. An epiphany: a new vision of youth coaching, available to any coach and soccer club.
Focused on exactly those problems and training within a structure would be a great enrichment for each youth player.
The goal: develop young soccer players with a structured method that always gives the coach guidance.
We too are soccer fans!
“A youth academy is only a top-quality youth academy, as every child at your club can develop him- or herself optimally with pleasure as a soccer player.”

NETWORK
With a flexible network of strategists, (online) designers, football professionals, VTON offers the right solution for every client.
BACKGROUND
Mission: Every child is entitled to a fun educational training. I consider it my mission to help coaches and clubs to offer a soccer curriculum in an accessible way. This supports the coach and also the players. Voluntary coaches who provide training sessions become educated coaches using the opportunities offered by VTON. With this tool, these inspired coaches come even more to the key point: offering a fun and educational training. This mission and the way I want to shape it is the result of my development since the moment I graduated as an instructor of the KNVB academy.
FOOTBALL
From 1990 to 2000 I have played for professional clubs as sc Heerenveen, Sc Heracles and Fc Emmen in the Dutch Premier league and First Division. During these years I have worked with innovative coaches who inspired me to think out of the box. I have worked in The Netherlands as a Director of Coaching and Technical Director at several clubs for over 10 years as well as serving as the head coach of
many senior and youth teams for 12 years. I have a UEFA B-license and hold a KNVB instructor license.
EDUCATION
The urge to help youth, developing learning achievements was reflected at my work in special education. Have children explore with all kinds of issues, together and as an individual, to lay the foundation for regular further education. As a motivator, inspirer and developer of curriculums, I played a big role in this.
SPORTS & EDUCATION
In the end, I have been able to combine both passions. I have applied the lessons I learned from teaching, structuring, learning objectives and core goals to sports. Through our ICT co-owner, I learned to make complicated matter accessible. Let your imagination run free, use creativity with difficult issues and always create tangible things has always been the basis.
MOTIVATION
We want every youth player to reach his or her potential. That is why we started with the development of a method for youth soccer in 2012. First in binders and since 2015 is the method completely digitally available. Many thousands of coaches are using the VTON method on a weekly basis.
Erik de Jonge
Development method and relationship management.
I was educated as a coaching instructor and worked as a district, region and talent coach for the KNVB. I am also an instructor at the KNVB academy. In practice I saw many associations struggling. I realized that structural support was needed at the basis. When Richard and I met, we shared the same vision and drive. That was the start of VTON.
